Uckfield Art Group was formed in 1985. Our members are all ages and abilities, from beginners to experienced artists. We are a friendly and informal group, always ready to welcome new members.
We usually work on individual projects using our own choice of media and source materials. Occasionally we have a group project where members bring something on a theme and set up a still life display to draw or paint from life. These evenings give us the opportunity to develop our artistic abilities and share techniques and expertise.
Exhibitions are held at The Luxford Centre twice a year where we showcase our work, (and sell a few if we're lucky!) where all members are encouraged but by no means obliged to enter work.
We believe in Art for recreation, relaxation and enjoyment.
Where and when do we meet?
We meet every Tuesday at the Luxford Centre, at 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 pm with a coffee / tea available throughout the evening (with biscuits!!)
What does it cost?
Annual fees are £50. These are collected half yearly, £25 in July and January.
We bring our own materials and equipment, though the group has some resources which are available to members at cost price.
If you would like to join us
Come along on any Tuesday evening and pay us a visit, see what we do, and have a chat, the first two ‘taster' sessions are free. We welcome new members.
Welcome to the Uckfield Art Group Website.
Our ethos is based on our motto - ‘Painting for Pleasure'.
We are an informal group who meet regularly to enjoy and develop our art. The group includes members from all abilities and ages (16+). We celebrate successes and although we have no formal tutor we use the expertise within the group to help those who need advice or encouragement.
We hold two main exhibitions per year to showcase our work.
The next exhibition takes place on Saturday November 6th 2021, all being well. For more details see Notices and Contacts page.
